There is no hosted service and no account. ## Facts - Name: Spacefield - Author: Asad Iqbal (GitHub: @asadev) - Licence: MIT — free for commercial use, modification and redistribution - Source: https://github.com/asadev/spacefield - Website: https://spacefield.co (marketing page only) - Status: open source, self-hosted. No SaaS, no sign-up, no paid tier. - Built with: Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, Supabase (PostgreSQL) - Size: 126 apps, 284 API routes, 103 database migrations, 76 admin sections ## What it is A real window manager in the browser, not a page styled to look like one. Every application is a React component mounted into a window — no iframes. Each app also works as its own standalone page, so it can be linked and indexed. Workspaces are separate desktops, each with its own installed apps and state. ## Included applications CRM (contacts, companies, deals, leads), file manager, tasks, notes, projects, people, an inbox, a command palette, search (full-text and vector), calculators, content and SEO tools, unit and format converters, and an app store for installing or removing any of them per workspace. ## Also included An admin panel with users, roles and permissions, feature flags, runtime configuration, workflows, custom pages and audit logs. Row-level security on every table holding user data. A public REST API. CSV import and export. Progressive web app support. Right-to-left language support. ## How to run it git clone https://github.com/asadev/spacefield.git cd spacefield && npm install cp .env.example .env.local # add your Supabase keys npm run dev Requirements: Node.js and a free Supabase project. Only three settings are required to boot (Supabase URL, publishable key, secret key). Every other setting in .env.example is optional — leaving one blank switches that feature off rather than breaking the app. ## Adding your own app Create a React component at app/tools//_app.tsx and register it in app/tools/_data/tools-list.ts with a name, category and icon. The dock, launchpad, search and sitemap pick it up automatically. ## Common questions - Is it free? Yes, MIT licensed, including commercial use. - Is there a hosted version? No. You run it yourself. - Can I sell something built on it? Yes. - Does it need a database? Yes — Supabase (PostgreSQL). - Who maintains it?
