Draggable windows, a dock, a launchpad, multiple workspaces — and 126 apps that run inside them. Free to use, fork and sell.
This page is the product. The menu bar, the widgets, the dock, this window you are reading — all of it is Spacefield's own window manager, running in your browser with nothing installed.
The real thing puts 126 apps inside these windows: a CRM, a file manager, tasks, notes, projects, calculators, developer tools. Separate workspaces keep them apart. It is free, open source, and yours to change.
Open a few windows — everything below is a real one.
Spacefield is not a website styled to look like a desktop. It is a real window manager, with real applications mounted inside it — no iframes. Every app is a React component, so it opens instantly and shares state with the rest of the workspace.
Drag, resize, minimise and stack. A launchpad, a command palette, wallpapers, light and dark themes.
Separate desktops with their own installed apps and state, so work and side projects never bleed into each other.
Every tool runs in a window and works as its own page — shareable, linkable, indexable.
Add an app by dropping a component in a folder and naming it in the registry. The dock and search find it on their own.
Built with Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind v4 and Supabase, with row-level security on every table that holds user data.
General-purpose by default. Industry packs sit on top for anyone who wants them. All of it ships — nothing is held back behind a paid tier, because there is no paid tier.
You need Node and a free Supabase project. Nothing else, and no account here.
# clone it git clone https://github.com/asadev/spacefield.git cd spacefield && npm install # add your own Supabase keys cp .env.example .env.local # go npm run dev
Then apply the database schema:
npx supabase link --project-ref <your-project-ref> npx supabase db push
Every setting is documented in .env.example. Leave a key blank and the feature it powers stays switched off rather than breaking — only the three Supabase values are needed to boot.
No. There is no service and no account to create. Spacefield is source code you run yourself — this page exists to point you at it.

Yes. MIT means you can use it, change it, keep your changes private, and sell products built on it. The only requirement is keeping the licence notice.
Yes — that is the point of the architecture. Add a React component at app/tools/<slug>/_app.tsx and register it in the tools list. The dock, launchpad and search pick it up automatically.
It is a standard Next.js app. It deploys to any host that runs Next.js, and to a free Supabase project. The build is large — this is a big codebase — so give the build step room.
